Vintage Tea

This is my new project and I took some samples along to book club to bounce ideas off everyone. By the way the rather wonderful coffee and walnut cake was made by Charlotte! As you can see we take our literary persuits very seriously!

I have been buying vintage tea sets and lovely items such as wooden sieves and jelly moulds and using them to make candles and planting with flowers for the table. The candles are made with natural wax (soy or rapeseed) so they are free from petrochemicals and burn cleanly. More importantly they can be washed out with warm soapy water so you can enjoy your favourite hot drink in your tea cup after the candle has burn down. The candles burn for many hours and look lovely by the bed or as a table deocration. The wooden sieves make great planters and the one above has primroses planted in it and I gave it to my mother for mother's day.

I have also made a collection of tea knives and vintage glasses to sell alongside. I am going to be selling these at the Home & Garden event at Leeds Castle in May.
